Perfectly functional for lemons and limes
For years I used a pampered chef citrus press for my lemons and limes (which I use routinely in my cooking). However, it finally wore out, so I decided to try out this product from Amazon.
It is much lighter weight than the one I’m used to, so I’m not sure what durability will be like over time. But the size is perfect for lemons and limes, and it squeezes all the juice out while capturing the seeds.
If you use fresh lemon or lime juice often, I would definitely recommend giving this citrus press a try, especially at this price point!

Great juicer, but be mindful of the warning
This is a good solid tool. It is made with two pieces of heavy-duty enameled cast aluminum and a hook from which the tool can be hung. The squeezer works well for oranges and lemons (I’ve not yet tried it on limes). If you do not squeeze citrus fruit often enough to justify getting a counter-mounted press, this is a great tool to have; with it, one can apply a lot of leverage to the fruit.
My one reservation with the tool is that it comes with a warning that the product contains lead and cadmium, two cancer-causing chemicals (see photo). I am guessing that these compounds are in the enamel finish, since cadmium and lead have been commonly used in such finishes, especially on cast iron cookware. This reservation is the reason that I am not giving the tool a five-star rating. I do not squeeze citrus often, and I will not be storing citrus in the squeezer or heating citrus in it, so I am not concerned about leaching and will use this tool happily. However, the warning is still there.
All-in-all, I do recommend this orange-and-lemon squeezer from Alpine Cuisine and am happy that I have it. It’s simple, durable, and works well. I think that the Alpine Cuisine could do better though, if it could find a different enamel recipe to use on its products.
